I been to a few places in Sardinia but by far the best place to stay for me was Torre Delle Stelle on the south east tip of Sardinia. I have rented here twice and you can get great holiday apartments with BBQ outside and magnificent views overlooking the sea. Definitely recommend getting an Italian friend to phone direct, you get a much better deal. The area is quiet and is mainly holiday homes with a nearby beach, cafè, supermarket and butcher shop. A guy turns up once or twice a week and opens a fish mongers. I love the peace and quiet and if you turn right out of Torre Delle Stelle you can go to the beautiful town of Villasimius with its shops, bars and restaurants (love this place). Or turn left and visit the hussle and bussle of Cagliari. You have to drive around the cliffs with the insane Sardinians over taking you blindly on bends, they are death on four wheels, but with all this peace and quiet you need to get your heart pumping somehow.
